DREAM Kids Tournament Rules
Dream Jiu Jitsu follows the standards of bigger organizations with a few exceptions and changes of our own. While we want our competitors to play by the same rules as the everyone else, ultimately competition should be designed for you to become a better grappler. We believe our rules and format reflect that idea. Please send all questions to Sean at dreambjj@gmail.com
Reaping
Competitors are not allowed to reap the knee during the match. However, no one will be DQ'd for reaping. The ref will simply stop the match, adjust to a legal position, and restart the fight.
Tie Breaker
In the case of a tie and no submission, competitors enter a 2 minute overtime which can be won by takedown only. The first person to fall on their butt, back, or is forced to turtle (elbows and knees on the ground) loses the match.
Advantages
Our tournaments do not use an "advantage" system. To score points, competitors must complete the technique, demonstrate control, and be free from any submission holds.
